Preparations are full steam ahead for Sunbury Model Train Club’s annual exhibition this weekend.
The two-day event is in its 35th year at
St Anne’s and will include dozens of layouts of different scales by modellers from across the state.
Exhibition manager Ryan Chester said the event aims to showcase the work of the club’s 50 members, as well as to inspire the community to come aboard.
“Our latest models will all be on show and there will be trade stands, demonstrations and entertainment for everyone,” Mr Chester said.
He will be demonstrating how to build model locomotives at his stall and there will be a small Thomas the Tank Engine layout for the youngsters.
“We’re all keen modellers and our skill base is varied with people specialising in a number of different areas of modelling … so visitors will be able to learn a lot.”
The Sunbury Model Train Club exhibition will run from 10am to 5pm on October 20 and 10am to 4pm on October 21. Entry is $8 for adults and $5 for children.
