Get ready for a night of laughs when Salesian College Sunbury students perform Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

Principal Mark Brockhus said he was looking forward to seeing his students’ take on the 1895 play.

“Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest is a brilliantly clever comedic masterpiece suitable for people of all ages,” he said.

“Our students are excited to be presenting this play and have put in hundreds of hours to make this timeless classic memorable and special for those in attendance.

“We hope the local community comes to support our students.

“This play promises to be a wonderful night for all involved.”

Mr Brockhus said that Rupertswood Mansion was the “perfect setting” for the production.

“Built in 1874, the mansion will help attendees feel part of the era as they are surrounded by opulence and beauty,” he said.

“Guests will look at the mansion and see the expression of an extraordinary way of life based on great affluence.”

The play will be performed on Wednesday, June 26, and Thursday, June 27, at 1 Macedon Street from 7pm, with pre-show drinks and nibbles each night.
