A new community pavilion at the Bulla Village Tennis Club has officially opened.

The new pavilion at the Bulla Recreation Reserve replaces an “unsafe”, decommissioned building, and includes a large social room, outdoor deck, bar, change rooms and a kitchen.

The $300,000 pavilion upgrade was funded through the state government’s 2018-19 Growing Suburbs Fund.

As well as catering for sports teams and clubs, the new pavilion can be used to host public and social events.

Sunbury MP Josh Bull said since the launch of the Growing Suburbs Fund, Hume council has received more than $25 million to fund 26 projects.

“The new pavilion will be a great asset for Bulla and the whole Hume community,” he said.

“It’s a place for people to play the sports they love, meet up with friends and get active.

“It is great to see the continuing legacy of the Growing Suburbs Fund, making a real difference for our community here in Hume.”

Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane said community facilities like the Bulla Village Tennis Club were of tremendous vale.

“I am pleased the Growing Suburbs Fund can help make our communities get the high-quality facilities they deserve.”
