Applications are now open for the 2024 Teaching Excellence Program, which aims to support and develop the skills of Victorian teachers.
The program is offered through the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership for 500 of the best and brightest teachers across the state, including those in Sunbury and Macedon Ranges.
Education Minister Natalie Hutchins announced on August 11, that applications are open for the year-long training program for teachers to explore unique ways of making learning meaningful for their students.
“Through this nation-leading opportunity, teachers have an incredible chance to deepen their practice and help transform the learning experience of thousands of students,” Ms Hutchins said.
“We’re proud to invest in our teachers by supporting them with the best opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge, making classrooms across Victoria a place students love learning in.”
The program is open to teachers with at least 3 years’ experience, and involves conferences, subject specific study days, learning communities and self-directed projects to test new and improved skills.
During the program, Master teachers, in the key learning areas of arts, English, humanities, languages, technologies, science, mathematics and health and physical education, will provide expert guidance and wisdom.
Once graduated from the program, teachers can apply for a Teaching Innovation Fellowship grant through the academy to receive ongoing support and take their learning even further.
