TAFE designs revealed

Kangan Institute has unveiled the designs of its new Sunbury campus.

Backed by $25 million in state government funding, the campus is being designed by Spowers Architects and scheduled to open in mid-2028.

The campus will offer facilities to deliver future programs in areas like hair and beauty, digital technologies, education support, vocational English and more – helping locals gain job-ready skills and supporting employers to address workforce shortages.

Kangan Institute said it is working with schools and employers to expand course offerings to meet local needs.

It will also align closely with Kangan Institute’s trades-focused Melton Campus, also set to open in 2028.

Skills and TAFE minister Gayle Tierney described the campus design as “stunning”.

“With these stunning designs revealed, we’re another step closer to delivering a state-of-the-art TAFE campus right here in Sunbury,” she said.

“These new facilities will give locals access to world-class facilities and the skills they need for the jobs our community needs now and into the future.”

Kangan Institute chief executive Laura Macpherson said the new campus would be an engaging and flexible learning environments for a growing Sunbury community.

“Education should be accessible, practical and local – and that’s exactly what this new TAFE campus will deliver,” she said.
