Sweet sounds in uncertain times

Tim Allan is hoping his new song will bring happiness to people in an uncertain time.

The Sunbury musician is releasing his new song Honey this week and he says it was inspired by a classic movie.

“I used to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s with my mum when I was a kid,” he said.

“I always wanted to find a girl like Audrey Hepburn so I guess this song is about meeting that girl.

“Honey is more of a fun song and I think people need that sort of stuff now.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the way Allan works as a musician, and he said he had to make changes along the way.

“I had a single launch booked for my last song and I was planning a launch for my EP, which was supposed to come out in May, so I had to delay that,” he said.

“Everything was a bit unsure and I didn’t want to book anything.

“I can’t work with my band anymore, which makes it frustrating.

“I have been working on a lot more songs because I’m home all the time.

“I have set up my own home studio and have bought some new studio gear so I can record here at home which has really helped me.”

As the pandemic brings a lot of uncertainly in the world, Allan is certain about one thing when it comes to his career as a musician.

“I just want to share my music and I want it to be my job,” he said.

“I want to be able to support myself with my music. I love playing live and I love writing songs.

Honey will be released on August 21.
