Sunbury youth leaders to address decision makers

The speaker event will take place on Saturday August 12 (Unsplash).

A free youth leadership project in Sunbury is inviting young people to share a presentation on a topic they are passionate about to the local community.

The project, Kid x Plus, aims to provide an exciting opportunity for young people, aged 9 to 25 years old, to speak directly to community decision makers about the issues that matter to them.

There will be three speaker development support sessions in July and there is an opportunity to have individual mentoring to formulate ideas and prepare the presentation.

The next session is on Saturday July 15, 1.30pm to 3.30pm, at 12-28 Macedon Street, Sunbury, and the speaker event will take place on Saturday August 12, from 9.30am onwards.

Kid x Plus is in its third year and is coordinated by Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health and the Sunbury Aboriginal Corporation, with funding from a Hume council grant.
