A man barricaded himself inside a Sunbury home for more than nine hours in a standoff with police.
Police were called to an address in Sunbury for a welfare check about 2.25pm on Wednesday 4 February.
A man allegedly barricaded himself inside a property on Archer Avenue.
Police said one child was inside the house at the time.
Officers from the Critical Incident Response Team negotiated with the man over several hours.
Police said there were no physical injuries.
The 51-year-old man was detained by police about 11.30pm.
Police said he was taken to hospital for assessment.
