Sunbury Heights Primary School will receive almost $500,000 to upgrade its bathroom facilities.

Last week the state government announced the 63 school recipients of its Minor Capital Works funding program, with a total of $18.6 million to be distributed.

The $98,127 will help the school refurbish its toilet block and improve cleanliness and hygiene.

Minister for Education James Merlino said it was important that every student have the ebay possible facilities.

“That’s why we’re investing in hundreds of small, but important projects, that will make a big difference for schools and create local jobs for Victorians,” Mr Merlino said.

“Whether it’s upgrading toilets or building a new fence – this is all about making sure our students have the facilities they need to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.”

Star Weekly reported in October that Sunbury Heights Primary School was among three schools in Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges to receive funding from the state government’s School Shade grants program.

Sunbury Heights Primary School is currently accepting enrolments for 2022.
