Sunbury glows with holiday fun

Sunbury kids can stay entertained during the upcoming holiday break by taking part in Hume council’s youth activities program.

The two-week program, featuring 16 events, workshops and excursions, will run from Saturday, June 30, until Friday, July 13.

The fun will begin with a neon glow-in-the-dark party at the Sunbury Youth Centre this Saturday, from 6.30-10pm.

Organised by youth services provider, FReeZA, the dance party will feature local DJs and is for young people aged 12 to 19.

Sunbury kids can sign up for a two-day first aid course at the aquatic and leisure centre on Monday and Tuesday, July 2 and 3.

The youth centre will host a games day on Thursday, July 5, which will be open to board game enthusiasts aged 12 and above.

A NAIDOC Week event will be held at the centre on Tuesday, July 10, to celebrate Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander culture.

The event will begin at 11am with a workshop to create indigenous artwork, followed by a dreamtime story performance at 2pm.
