Four year 7 students from Sunbury Downs College have outshone peers from across the state, with their projects on the science of light recognised by awards.
Alexander, Katelyn, Tamara and Jacqueline (pictured) each won cash prizes in this year’s Science Teachers Association of Victoria talent search. Jacqueline took out the creative writing prize, while Alexander won the category for working models with his demonstration of the importance of street light design in reducing skyglow.
Katelyn and Tamara were recognised in the games category for their project The Caterpillar. The first state talent search was conducted in 1952.
