Musical call out

Singers, musical theatre-lovers and those who just want to have a go can join Sunbury’s InSync Sound. The group is seeking new members, from teens to seniors, and does not require auditions.

Garage and car boot sale

Romsey will unite on Saturday, September 9, from 8am-4.30pm for its seventh whole town garage and car boot sale. Households can register their garage sales or have a ‘car boot’ site in Romsey’s main street. Town maps and guides for the sales will be available from 8am at the Romsey Hub at 96 Main Street, Romsey.

R U OK? lunch

Woodend Neighbourhood House will host a community lunch on Friday, September 8, from noon at the Woodend RSL to strengthen community mental health. If you can’t make lunch you can drop in for a cuppa with local service providers and community groups, including Cobaw Community Heath, Woodend Rotary, Woodend Community Bags and a local bookkeeper at the RSL from 11am to 4pm. Tickets are essential.

Far From Men

Macedon Ranges Film Society will screen the compelling award-winning drama Far From Men from 7pm on Wednesday, September 14. The society meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Woodend Community Centre.

MRFS is a membership-based club.

Suicide prevention walk

Macedon Ranges Suicide Prevention Action Group will hold a Prevention Walk on Sunday, September 10 starting from the Woodend Children’s Park in Nicholson Street. Registration starts at 8.30am.

Chamber Poets

Woodend’s Chamber Poets sessions take place on the second Saturday of the month from 2-5pm. The next session is on Saturday, September 9 at the Woodend Wine Store, 42 Anslow Street. Entry by donation.
