Macedon Ranges council and Kyneton Football Netball Club (KFNC) have received funding from the state government to construct UV ray protection.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas announced last week announced both groups would score the funding in the latest round of the $2.5 million Shade Grants Program.
Macedon Ranges council received $43,587 to construct sail structures at Woodend Kindergarten and Swinburne Avenue Children’s Centre, and KFNC received $636 for 150 bucket hats and 20 bottles of sunscreen.
“These grants will help people in Macedon, especially young people, to enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle while having the necessary shade to protect them from the sun,” Ms Thomas said.
