Hip hip hooray for the Sunbury Animal Hospital.
It’s the hospital’s 40th anniversary this year and the clinic – and its furry friends – will be celebrating in style.
Dr John Patton first established the Sunbury Animal Hospital four decades ago in a renovated house on the same site it’s on today.
Dr Glen Hastie, who has been at the clinic for 30 years, said the hospital had come a long way.
“The hospital [is] with the highest standards of medicine and client service in the north west of Melbourne,” he said.
“We are the leaders in the Sunbury area – the first to have a dedicated pet ambulance, the first to have digital x-rays and dental x-rays, the first to use three yearly vaccinations for dogs [and] the first to have a veterinary ultrasound, the list goes on.
“We want to give everyone our warmest thanks and we hope to continue to give the Sunbury community and their pets the very highest standard of care for another 40 years.”
To celebrate four decades in business, the hospital will be hosting an open day.
The event will include an interactive behind the scenes look at the clinic.
There will be a jumping castle, face-painting and a scavenger hunt and children will get the chance to be a vet for the day.
The open day will be held on Sunday, May 19 between 11am-2pm at 63 Macedon Street.
