Penny and Philip Chote will stomp at nothing to make a difference to families living in an African village.

The Kyneton wife and husband will band together and take on the Stadium Stomp charity event later this month.

Ms Chote said they were taking part in the challenge to raise $500 for Ugandan village Buwagogo.

“My husband and I are doing it together to raise money for a not-for-profit organisation that we are a part of – it’s called Musaale,” she said. “That supports a village in Uganda.

“The main purpose of our fundraising this time is to raise money for an 18-year-old guy in the village who has an infection in a bone in his leg that we had to pay to get an operation on.

“So we are just raising money for that operation at the moment.”

This year’s charity event is the first time the pair will climb the four levels of the MCG.

“I’m going to struggle a bit more but I am looking forward to the challenge,” she said.

Ms Chote and her husband will climb the MCG stairs on June 30.
