Gisborne Vintage Machinery Society’s annual Steam Rally and Family Fun Day will showcase steam engines, vintage and classic cars and working machinery.

Society president Anthony Davis said the rally is a great chance to take a trip back in time.

The society will also unveil its new large model train layout and an historic steamroller will return after more than a year of restoration.

The popular tractor-pull has attracted competitors from across the state.

There’ll also be an animal farm, market stalls, and food vendors. On May 21, from 9.30am-3pm at Steam Park, New Gisborne. Admission is $10 per adult, under 16s are free.
