Woodend Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of many in the region who travel the streets of the Macedon Ranges in the days leading up to Christmas, with Santa on the back of their jolly red truck spreading holiday cheer.

Woodend CFA volunteer Nathanial Briggs said it was a wonderful time for the community, where everybody engaged with the fun and connected with each other.

“To see Santa on the back of the fire truck in the spirit of Christmas and the holidays is fantastic to see,” Mr Briggs said.

“The Woodend fire brigade has been doing this for over 25 years and it is a highlight of the brigade calendar.

“I just love to see the kids smiling, the kids get such joy out of it. Even the adults… it’s amazing.”

Woodend CFA will have their annual Santa Run on Christmas Eve, with brigades including Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Bullengarook, Macedon, Mt Macedon, Woodend, Tylden, Newham and Carlsruhe taking part at different times.

A list of the various drives will be released early December.
