Sport without breaking the bank

Vouchers valued at $200 are up for grabs to help families with the cost of local sport.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas is encouraging eligible families to take advantage of the $21 million Get Active Kids Voucher program, which is rolling out up to 100,000 vouchers across four rounds.

To be eligible, children need to be four to 18 years old, a resident in Victoria, named on a current Australian Government Health Care Card of Pensioner Concession Card and also named on a valid Australian government Medicare Card at the time of application.

The program will provide sport vouchers to help families with the cost of membership and registration fees, sports and equipment and uniforms,

The program is also supporting sport clubs and active recreation providers broaden their memberships by providing them with the additional revenue to help recover rom the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program is part of the Get Active Victorian initiative , which is helping families with ideas and tips to motivate people to be more active.

Ms Thomas said the voucher program was a great opportunity for eligible families to get their children in to local sport without breaking the budget.

“Grassroots sports club across Macedon are the heart and soul of our communities … our vulnerable kids deserve to be part of this.”
