Sir Elton tour to include a Rock show

The Rocket Man is coming to Hanging Rock.

Sir Elton John will bring his global Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour Down Under to the Rock on Saturday, January 25, next year.

Sir Elton will spend 15 days touring the nation before he turns off the microphone to spend time with his family.

Macedon Ranges mayor Janet Pearce said the event would draw thousands of concert-goers.

“Not only are we excited to welcome such a legendary performer as Sir Elton John to the shire, we are looking forward to the economic benefits such a concert will bring,” Cr Pearce said.

“Previous concerts had a significant economic impact on the region, especially for accommodation providers and local restaurants, shops and cafes.

“This tour will be the final opportunity for music fans to see
Sir Elton John live in concert, and the only chance to see him with the majestic Hanging Rock as a concert backdrop.”

Sir Elton will follow the likes of Leonard Cohen, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Cold Chisel, the Eagles and Midnight Oil in performing at Hanging Rock.

The tour will include two shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
