Police have arrested a man after he allegedly “barricaded” himself inside a house following an alleged aggravated burglary in Sunbury on Wednesday morning.
According to police, it is understood a man armed with a weapon ran from officers in Menzies Drive just before 2am, before forcing entry into a house.
Police said the female occupant fled the property uninjured.
“The man barricaded himself inside and police negotiated with him for several hours,” police said.
“A man was arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries.”
