A severe thuderstorm warning and shelter indoors now alert has been issued for suburbs around Melbourne’s north-west.
Residents in Sunbury, Sydenham, St Albans, Melbourne Airport, Craigieburn, Preston, Footscray and surrounds are being told to shelter indoors as intense rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.
VicEmergency said very dangerous thunderstorms were detected near Sunbury, Sydenham at 2:05pm.
These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect St Albans and Melbourne Airport by 2:20pm and Craigieburn, Preston and Footscray by 2.35pm.
