Kyneton has a triple gold medalist … Emelia Prendergast, of Emelia’s The Saucy Australian fame, who has picked up three golds, a silver and a bronze for her pastries and preserves in the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria’s Australian Food Awards this month.
Mrs Prendergast and husband Ron started in their Kyneton home about 22 years ago after the family fell on hard times.
“We had nothing so I started meddling with chutneys and relishes and selling them at the farmers markets.” Emelias is now a long standing Piper Street business specialising in sauces, preserves and baked goods.
