Romsey’s Annie Phelan shares cancer story

Romsey’s Annie Phelan shared her personal story of cancer and a few tales from her acting career during a charity event at the town’s library last Wednesday.

Phelan, who has appeared in countless stage productions, films and television series, entertained close to 90 people as part of a Biggest Morning Tea hosted by the library and local Red Cross unit.

Early detection has helped the Prisoner and Winners and Losers star fight off three cancer scares in recent years.

The turnout for last week’s event far exceeded initial expectations, raising close to $800 for the Cancer Council.
