Lights, camera, action – the Romsey Get Snapping Photo Competition is back for another year.

Event organiser Sue Kirkegard said the competition – now in its second year, was a chance for people to capture the simple things that Romsey offered.

“It is to get people to share the things that they enjoy about Romsey [and] about life in Romsey,” she said.

“Whether it’s going to the footy, or doing the gardening or walking up the street – it’s a chance for us to share that.”

Ms Kirkegard said the young and old were all encouraged to take part in the competition.

“Any person in Romsey can participate – you don’t need to be a photography geek,” she said.

“We’ve got a special prize for primary school children – we’ve got a $50 primary school prize.

“If you are getting up to nine or 10, when you are up to the pre-high school stage, you’re quite confident in your abilities.

“We had an 11-year-old last year who was highly commended for her pictures.”

Cash prizes of up to $250 will be up for grabs.

Photo entries are now being accepted until September 30.
