Rundown roads around the Macedon Ranges will be resurfaced as the state government rolls out $54 million of improvement works across central Victoria.
Road crews will be out in force in the coming months to complete upgrades on the region’s 3800-kilometre arterial network.
A deteriorated 1.2 kilometre section of Kilmore-Lancefield Road, near Lancemore Hill, will be fixed thanks to a $1.9 million upgrade to improve road surface on the busy connection to the town centres.
Tourists visiting shops and cafes in Kyneton and those heading to Lake Eppalock will benefit from a safer and smoother journey with more than half a million dollars set to strengthen and resurface a section of Heathcote-Kyneton Road. Other key connections will also be improved with surface improvement works on Aitken and Robertson streets in Gisborne and Main Street in Romsey.
More upgrades will be made later this year on the Barry and Main streets intersection and crossings in Lancefield, Riddells Creek and Romsey.
