Sunbury store named best in Australia

A Sunbury business, which has been in the one family for more than two decades, has been recognised for its efforts.

Sunbury Autobarn was awarded National Autobarn Store of the Year for 2019 at a ceremony at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre late last year.

Store chief executive Adam Mizzi said he was thrilled with the achievement.

“I work 80 hours a week and to be acknowledged for your hard work and the team’s hard work is incredibly humbling and exciting,” he said.

“We’ve been nominated 10 years in a row now.

“It’s a credit to the team here at the store, and anyone in the past that has worked for me or the company, I am very grateful for.”

The store is no stranger to success, having won the same award in 2008. Mr Mizzi credited his store’s success to his team’s dedicated support to the business over the years.

“Without their support, we wouldn’t be successful,” he said.

“My assistant has been with me for 12 years and she’s a really big part of the
success. She’s my backbone. “I enjoy the customer service and the community aspect and being able to raise funds. We’ve raised close to $1.6 million for local and international charities since
2004.”
