Residents urged to take shelter

UPDATE 3.38PM

A fire threat is reduced for homes and properties along the Lancefield Road, west of a Clarkefield fire.

This Advice message replaces the Watch & Act message issued at 2.46pm this afternoon

There is still a monitor the conditions they are changing warning for Beveridge, Craigieburn, Donnybrook, Kalkallo, Mickleham, Oaklands Junction, Sunbury, Wildwood and Yuroke due to a fire at Havelock Road.

An emergency warning was also issued for Beveridge, Bolinda, Clarkefield, Darraweit Guim, Mickleham, Oaklands Junction, Sunbury and Wildwood at 3.21pm for residents to shelter indoors due to a grassfire travelling from Konagaderra Road in a south-easterly direction.

UPDATE 2.37pm

A new emergency warning has been issued for the Clarkefield grass fire.

This Emergency Warning is being issued for Beveridge, Bolinda, Clarkefield, Darraweit Guim, Mickleham, Oaklands Junction, Sunbury, Wildwood.

There is a grassfire at Clarkefield that is not yet under control.

Firefighters have been unable to stop the fire spread at this time.

This Emergency Warning replaces the Emergency Warning issued at 2:01pm.

You are in danger, act now to protect yourself. It is too late to leave. The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately.

Do not get in the car and drive. It is safer to stay where you are.

A new watch and act alert has also been issued.

This Watch and Act message is being issued for Beveridge, Bolinda, Clarkefield, Craigieburn, Kalkallo, Mickleham, Oaklands Junction, Riddells Creek, Sunbury, Wildwood, Yuroke.

There is a bushfire at Clarkefield that is not yet under control.

The grassfire is travelling from Havelock Road in a south-easterly direction towards Old Sydney Road.

This Watch and Act message replaces the Watch & Act issued at 1:36pm.

Earlier:

An emergency warning has been issued for Bolinda, Clarkefield and Darraweit Guim residents to shelter indoors now.

There is a grassfire at Clarkefield that is not yet under control. An earlier warning said it is travelling in an easterly direction towards Boggy Gate Road.

Firefighters have not been able to stop the spread of the fire at this time.

VicEmergency said residents are in danger and need to act now to protect themselves. It is too late to leave, and it is safest to shelter indoors immediately.

Residents should move indoors, bring pets inside, and close all exterior doors, windows and vents. Residents should turn off cooling systems and shelter before the fire arrives.

A watch and act has been issued for this fire.

Residents in Bolinda, Bulla, Clarkefield, Darraweit Guim, Mickleham, Oaklands Junction, Riddells Creek, Wildwood are being advised to monitor conditions as they are changing.

At least 50 vehicles are responding.
