Elly-Louise Tyquin is ready to release her artwork into the public eye.

The Sunbury artist’s newest art exhibition, Release, focuses on the processes to aid to mental health.

The 25-year-old said her exhibition was a combination of new and old artwork.

“I have always worked with wool and fibre and I was doing large installations and then I began doing more wall mounted artwork,” she said.

“The exhibition brings together the starting point of a few of those works and then a new body of work that I began this year.

“The exhibition is not so much about the end products, it’s more the processes and what it means for me in terms of managing my headspace.”

The exhibition is a mixture of abstract illustrations, wool based and sculptural fibre artwork and weaving.

“The whole exhibition is abstract, nothing is replicating real life,” she said.

“It’s a type of therapy in terms of processing things that are going around you.”

Release opens at the Sunbury Gallery in the Hume Global Learning Centre next month and runs until October 18.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Hume council will produce an online walk through for the public to view the art exhibition.
