An online survey investigating the health and wellbeing of Macedon Ranges residents will soon open for responses, aiming to inform decision-making.
Conducted by the state-funded Healthy Loddon Campaspe initiative, the Active Living Census aims to gather data on the health, wellbeing, and lifestyle choices of residents from six local government areas, including Macedon Ranges.
Opening on Monday, May 26, the survey will cover topics including participation in organised sport and physical activity; consumption of fruit, vegetables, water, alcohol, sugary drinks; rates of obesity; smoking; gambling habits; levels of life satisfaction; and barriers to eating well and being physically active.
The data collected will be used to inform decisions regarding funding, infrastructure, programs, and services.
It will also ensure that resources are allocated where they are most needed, aiming to improve health outcomes across the region.
Healthy Loddon Campaspe regional steering group deputy chair Lincoln Fitzgerald said that the census is a “vital tool that will assist community groups, government agencies, schools, and sporting clubs to make informed decisions and advocate for the health and wellbeing needs of our community.”
“This survey is an opportunity for every resident to contribute to a healthier future for our community,” Mr Fitzgerald said.
Healthy Loddon Campaspe aims to improve health outcomes in the six local government areas of Greater Bendigo, Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Loddon, Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander Shire.
