Ranges’ clubs benefit

Six sporting clubs in the Macedon Ranges are benefitting from the latest round of grants.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas announced the clubs who will share in the latest round of the Sporting Club Grants Program, with a new round of the program also open for clubs to join.

The program provides grants of up to $1000 for uniforms and equipment, up to $1500 for resources that improve governance and engagement, and up to $5000 for projects that strengthen volunteering and officiating, as well as projects that deliver a new sport or recreation program. Grants of up to $750 are also available to support athlete travel.

Lancefield Junior Football Netball Club, Macedon Junior Netball Club, Macedon Ranges Soccer Club, Macedon Ranges Bowling Club, Woodend Junior Football Netball Club and Woodend Tennis Clubs all benefitted from the latest round.

“We’re backing more clubs, supporting their volunteers and getting behind local sports that are an integral part of local communities,” Ms Thomas said.

“Congratulations to our grant recipients. I look forward to seeing a new generation of local

champions get their chance to play, volunteer, even coach, and take their performance to a whole new level.”

Applications for the Sporting Club grants are open now, and will close on 7 April.
