Macedon Ranges bus services have been given a boost, with 60 extra services set to be implemented for travel between key towns.
The number of weekday services connecting Lancefield, Romsey and Monegeetta and surrounding destinations will increase from 85 to 145.
The existing service will be broken down into three distinct routes, each with their own timetables with extra services added on each route.
The Lancefield to Sunbury route will increase to nine return trips on weekdays, and the Lancefield to Gisborne service will increase from two return services to 10.
Lancefield to Sunbury services will also better connect with trains at Sunbury, while maintaining existing connections at Clarkefield Station during peak periods. All new services will run to the same stopping patterns between Monday and Saturday.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas said the extra services would make travelling easier for locals and visitors.
“We’re serious about improving public transport for all regional Victorians and this is yet another example of how we’re determined to deliver for the Macedon Ranges,” she said.
The new services will be implemented on July 7. New timetables and maps outlining the service changes will be available from June 7 at ptv.vic.gov.au
