Pro wrestling hits up Sunbury

A pro wrestling event is hitting up Sunbury this month.

The Premier Championship match will feature long-time Sunbury resident Jonathan Preston.

Preston, who has recently moved to another suburb, said he was very excited to be starring in an event back in his “home town”.

Seven wrestling matches will take place at Sunbury Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 28, as well as a dance performance and vocals.

Preston said he hoped residents would get into this one-off event for Sunbury.

“I think they’re kind of starving for something like this,” he said.

The wrestler said he wanted to steer clear of any wrestling stigma, emphasising that it was an event that all the family could enjoy.

“It’s such a big, family-friendly atmosphere,” he said. “It’s one hundred per cent appropriate for children.”

“Everyone knows it’s all acting – everyone up there’s having fun.”

Preston said attendees could look forward to “larger-than-life athletes” and “lots of colours and flair”.
