Western Region Crime Squad are investigating a series of alleged burglaries in Gisborne in March this year.

Police allege two thieves attended a strip of shops on Aitken Street about 3am on Thursday, March 17.

According to police, the pair allegedly broke into two cafes and a hair salon, with money stolen from cash registers at each location.

Police said it’s believed the duo left the scene in a Ford Ranger utility with a canopy.

Investigators released CCTV footage and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

“Both men have been described as Caucasian with one believed to have a slim build and the other, a solid build,” police said.

“The pair were wearing what appears to be hooded jumpers, jeans and sneakers.”

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential online report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
