Nominations open for volunteering heroes

Residents of Sunbury and the Macedon Ranges are being encouraged nominate members of the community for their hard work.

Nominations for the 2021 Volunteering Awards are now open, which recognises the leaders and organisations that have made a difference in the past year.

There are a total of eight award categories, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Award for the Volunteer of the Year. The winner in this category will receive $10,000 to donate to a not-for-profit charity of their choice.

Nominations will close on January 12, 2022 and finalists will be announced in February.

“More than 2.3 million Victorians participate in volunteering. It is important we celebrate these enormous contributions and continue to support the efforts of volunteers and organisations alike,” Parliamentary Secretary for Carer and Volunteers Anthony Carbines said.
