Residents can find out what lurks in the shadows of Mount Macedon on an upcoming night walk.
Families will join Parks Victoria rangers and the Macedon Ranges council environment team for the free spotlighted tour around Sanatorium Lake, Mount Macedon, on November 7.
Macedon Ranges mayor Jennifer Anderson said the walk was a must-do activity for nature lovers keen to find out more about fauna in the area.
“Possums, gliders and night birds are a few of the species that call Sanatorium Lake home,” Cr Anderson said. “The one-kilometre, guided night walk will be a fun, informative and relaxed way to try your luck at spotting them in their natural habitat.”
Council planning and environment director Sophie Segafredo encouraged the community to grab a torch and take the family along.
“We want our community to spend some time outdoors and appreciate the wonderful wildlife we have,” she said.
“It’s also a way that we hope to help residents pursue a passion for nature.”
The spotlight walk is from 8pm until 10pm. Contact William Terry on 5421 9674 or book at environment@mrsc.vic.gov.au
