Night owls getting relay ready

Melissa Hatty’s team of ‘night owls’ will be cramming in as many ‘zeds’ as they can in the lead-up to the Lancefield Relay for Life later this year.

The team of 20 has been dubbed the Bristol Night Owls, after her husband’s home town in England, and they are training hard for the March 5 and 6 event at Lancefield Park.

There, they will join more than 300 entrants to raise funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services.

Relay for Life recognises and celebrates Lancefield’s cancer survivors, patients and their carers. It also honours loved ones lost to cancer and raises money to help save lives.

“We all joined because it’s such a different and fun way to raise money for a serious cause,” Ms Hatty, pictured, said. Registrations are still open.
