Pupils at New Gisborne Primary School are excitedly preparing to host an Autumn Fair to raise funds for a new school oval.

The fair will be held on Saturday, March 24, and is set to offer a fun-filled day for all ages.

Each class is planning to host its own stall at the fair, with ideas including face-painting, a cake stall, secondhand books and sports equipment and fresh fruit and vegies.

Games such as ‘sponge the teacher’, ‘smash the jaffa’ and ‘throw the dunny’ will be found at the year 6 classes’ sideshow alley stall.

The fair will offer rides and a number of performances, including cheerleading and a talent show.

A silent disco, show bags, flash mobs and art and craft opportunities are also planned for the day.

Proceeds from the fair will go towards re-developing the primary school’s oval. The fair is the school’s major fundraiser for the project.

The school is also collecting donations from business and families to go towards the event.

The Autumn Fair will be from 10am-4pm at 239 Station Road, New Gisborne. Everyone is welcome.
