Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas has announced new and improved car parks at Gisborne, Kyneton and Riddells Creek train stations are now complete.

In an announcement on March 31, Ms Thomas said 200 car parks have been added and upgraded to the stations.

One hundred car parks, including four accessible parks have been upgraded at Gisborne, while 50 new car parks, including one accessible park has been added to Kyneton.

Riddells Creek has received 50 new car parks, including three accessible parks, however these will not open until the middle of the year due to current sewer works.

Ms Thomas said the new parks will make travel more accessible to Macedon Ranges residents.

These new and upgraded car parks … will provide a huge benefit to commuters in the… region [by] making it easier and more accessible for them to park, catch the train and travel,” she said.

“The project also caters for the increase in people moving to the Macedon Ranges and ensures locals can get to where they need to go on our transport network.”

CCTV and lighting has also been installed to improve safety at the stations.
