New real estate agency offers drone service

A new real estate agency is providing a different perspective of the local property market, offering what’s believed to be the Macedon Ranges’ first drone real estate photography service.

In another shift from the traditional business model, Central Ranges Real Estate is also operating via a virtual office, rather than a physical shopfront.

Director Helen Milner said the agency wanted to ‘‘shake up’’ the way property services are provided.

‘‘Real estate’s been very much same old, same old for a long time,’’ she said.

‘‘While the price of houses and commissions have gone up, there’s been little change in how properties are actually sold.’’

Ms Milner said the agency was keen to support owner-sellers.

‘‘We will give people wanting to sell themselves the option of listing through us, and throw in the drones and home staging for free,’’ she said. ‘‘That’s the kind of thing no one else offers.’’

The agency is taking listings from across the state, but its main focus will be Lancefield, the Macedon Ranges and the western part of Mitchell shire.

Ms Milner, who comes from a home staging and local government background, and co-director Colin Smith, a keen property investor, are licensed to sell property. Mr Smith is also a qualified drone pilot, ensuring a bird’s eye view of each property’s unique features.
