Multiple speeders booked over weekend in Melton

Multiple drivers were booked for allegedly driving more than 30km/h over the speed limit in Melton over the weekend, including a driver from Sunbury.

On Saturday, April 29, at approximately 9.12pm police observed a dark Holden Commodore SS wagon travelling south on Plumpton Road, Plumpton.

Melton Highway Patrol members locked the vehicle’s speed using Moving Mode Radar with an alleged speed of 114km/h in the newly signed 80km/h zone.

The vehicle was intercepted on the Melton Highway where the 26 year old driver from Sunbury, was issued with a infringement notice for $601 for being 34 km/h over the posted speed limit. The man’s licence was suspended for 3 months.

At approximately 8.06pm on Sunday, April 30, Melton Highway Patrol members observed a silver Holden Commodore speeding on Abey Road, Cobblebank.

Police tracked the vehicle’s speed and locked it via Moving Mode Radar with an alleged speed of 95 km/h in the 60km/h zone.

The 36 year old driver from Melton South was issued with a $693 infringement notice including a 6 month suspension of his driver’s licence, commencing in 28 days.
