More options for Kyneton buses

Kyneton bus services are set to double with the introduction of more than 100 new services a week, including a new bus route to Trentham.

The current Wednesday to Friday bus network will expand to six days, operating Monday to Saturday, from April 1.

Buses will also operate for extended hours, with services starting at 6.20am and running through to 7.20pm on weekdays.

Timetables will be adjusted to connect with V/Line trains and most routes will receive six new return services on Saturdays.

Other additions include the route one bus to Kyneton station merging with the route 4 bus to Kyneton North, removing the need for passengers to change buses.

More services will connect Kyneton train station, with a bus connection until 3.21pm on weekdays.

A new bus stop will also be built outside the Tylden General Store and the Kyneton Medical Centre on Market Street.

The Trentham to Kyneton bus route has been planned to give residents easier access to services in both towns including, train stations, town centres, schools and health services.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas said more services across extra days will better connect Kyneton commuters.

“The new Kyneton bus network is delivering better public transport for the Kyneton community and better connections to trains, schools and health services,” Ms Thomas said.

“We’re improving public transport across Trentham and Kyneton, making it easier for residents to get around.”

New timetables and maps outlining the service changes will be available from March 1 at www.ptv.vic.gov.au
