Gisborne Primary School will receive a $1.628 million upgrade next year.
The upgrades, designed by architects Bryant Alsop, will modernise and reconfigure classrooms into a horseshoe shape. The school’s prep and administration areas will also be modernised.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas toured the school last week to discuss the upgrade.
Ms Thomas said she was looking forward to the work starting.
“Gisborne Primary School is growing and is expected to have over 460 students next year,” she said. “We need to make sure they have the facilities they need.”
Work is scheduled to begin in the second half of next year and to be completed in 2019. The upgrades are being funded by $1.628 million allocated to the school in the 2017-18 state budget.
