Merrifield’s Auskick program is set to receive new uniforms and equipment, thanks to a community grants program.

The Auskick program is one of 10 Mickleham-based community groups to share in $50,000 from the Merrifield Community Partnership Program. The fund aims to help groups in the Merrifield estate.

The successful groups were chosen by a committee which includes representatives from Hume council and Merrifield developers MAB Corporation and Gibson Property Corporation.

Grants of between $500 and $20,000 are awarded across five categories: culture, opportunity, health, connected and smart.

Other recipients include a choir, a chess club and a community garden.

Merrifield Auskick will also use its grant to create a committee to develop the program.

Merrifield community development manager Tennille Bradley-Ow said the recipients are groups which support the thriving Merrifield community.
