A new face of recycling has popped up in the Macedon Ranges, but it is missing one thing.
The council is calling on locals to name the region’s very own bin mascot.
As part of the council’s ongoing ‘Lets Get Sorted Community Waste Education Program’, the bin mascot will appear around the shire at schools and events in the coming months to help promote good recycling habits and use of the council’s kerbside collection system of four bins.
The jolly bin mascot has four different coloured lids, each one to reflect the colour of the council’s kerbside bins – yellow lid for recycling, red lid for waste, purple lid for glass and lime green for food organics garden organic (FOGO).
Residents can enter the council’s competition to help name the bin mascot. The winning entrant will win a compost bin or worm farm.
To enter the competition, visit mrsc.vic.gov.au/bin-mascot.
Multiple entries are accepted and entrants must live or go to school in the Macedon Ranges.
Entries close on Friday, August 14 at 4pm.
