Man airlifted following crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision that left a man with life-threatening injuries in Sunbury last night.

It is believed a 29-year-old Bacchus Marsh man was struck by a white Nissan Navara at a property on Lancefield Road about 7.15pm.

Prior to police arrival the man was transported to a nearby medical centre and airlifted to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, a 65-year-old Mill Park man remained at the scene and has since been interviewed by detectives.

He has been released pending further enquiries.

A woman who accompanied the man to the medical centre is also assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
