Adults with disabilities will have easier access to support services, following the opening of Mambourin’s Sunbury Community Hub.

The not-for-profit organisation opened its Sunbury service last week. It runs seven other community hubs in the western suburbs, but the Brook Street hub is its first in Hume.

Sunbury Community Hub team leader Leah Winfield said the organisation expanded to Sunbury to address a gap in local support services.

“We wanted to make it easier for people with disabilities in the area to access support services,” she said. “The hub will mean there are more choices for people with a disability.”

Ms Winfield said Mambourin offered clients a range of programs including employment services, budgeting and personal care.
