Macedon Ranges council’s 2023 youth holiday program is set to be a ripper time for young people aged 12 to 25 in the region.

Hosted by Macedon Ranges Youth Services, the events will help fill the summer days and foster connections.

On Saturday, January 21, the YMCA will host a skate, scooter and BMX competition at Gisborne Skate Park, where participants can compete to be crowned the winner of the Western Regional Series in the Victoria League – forming part of the YMCA’s national pathway program.

“The event will provide an opportunity for enthusiasts to have a go, improve their skills, interact with the pros and win some fun prizes,” council said.

Other events throughout January include pool parties at Lancefield and Woodend featuring a DJ and BBQ, free pop-up BBQs at Romsey and Kyneton skateparks and a live music event at Riddells Creek Lions Park, featuring local artists.

Council community director Maria Weiss said the program was a great chance for young people to get together and have fun in a safe and supervised environment locally.

“There are a range activities on offer, so there is sure to be something for everyone,” she said.
