Macedon Ranges young people, led by local band José and the Coffee Mugs, brought the house down at a jam session last Tuesday.

The session was one of the activities on offer as part of Macedon Ranges Youth holiday program, run by the council.

A second music evening will be held on Tuesday, January 23, from 4-6.30pm at Kyneton Youth Portable on Hutton Street (behind the Town Hall), lead by local band Mosey.

A PA, amps and drum kit will be provided – attendees just need to bring their talent and instruments. Anyone aged 12-25 years from the Macedon Ranges is invited to head along, even those who don’t play instruments. Entry is by gold coin donation and a barbecue dinner will be provided.

A free Cinema Under the Stars will also come to Gisborne’s Dixons Field on Thursday, January 18 from 7.30-10.30pm.

Live music will begin from 7.30pm, followed by a screening of Shrek at dusk. A barbecue, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Anyone aged between 12-25 years is encouraged to bring along a blanket and snacks to enjoy the entertainment.

Free event Parkour in the Park will also take place on Wednesday, January 24 from 10am-2pm at Kyneton Botanic Gardens.

Parkour will be taught next to the children’s park. Free entertainment, games, prizes and a barbecue lunch will be provided for anyone aged 12-25 years. All events will be fully supervised. Details: 5422 0242
