Macedon Ranges highway patrol is urging drivers to take care on the roads during the upcoming festive season.
Slow down, don’t be distracted by phones, take breaks on long trips and plan transport home before drinking, are Acting Sergeant Peter Wall’s main messages for motorists.
The Kyneton-based officer said the number of road incidents normally rose in December, so police presence would be increased.
“We will be out and about in force, targeting all issues,” Acting Sergeant Wall said.
“Police will be really vigilant on the Calder. Anyone found offending – even speeding minorly – will be caught.
“Have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year,” Acting Sergeant Wall said. “If we don’t see you on the roads, that will be a good thing.”
