Females from across the Macedon Ranges are encouraged to join the council’s celebration of courageous and adventurous women.
The free event for females aged over 10 years will feature inspiring women and highlight local leadership opportunities for women.
Acclaimed author Robyn Davidson is set to speak and singer-songwriter and ARIA award-winner Kavisha Mazzella will perform at the evening.
Ms Davidson’s successful book Tracks chronicles her epic 2835-kilometre camel trek across the Australian desert, and has been produced into a film.
Mayor Jennifer Anderson said the evening was a chance to celebrate the achievements of pioneering local women.
“We’re encouraging all women and girls aged 10 years and over to come along to what will be a very special night,” Cr Anderson said.
“We’re hoping the event will encourage more women and girls to push the boundaries and break stereotypes, and never be afraid to try something new.”
Free child-minding is available and car pooling is available through the shire’s six neighbourhood houses. Community buses will be available from a number of locations.
